Weekly News and Updates

A fairly quiet week of racing for the club, weather has played its part again with the ground turning and going against us. Just the one run with Archie tackling the All Weather surface of Chelmsford, he started out keen but was bumped early on and it made it difficult for him to run his race. Overall this was an encouraging run and Tom Queally said he just couldn’t get him forward enough to get room. He will be out again soon and hopefully back in that winners enclosure!

The week ahead sees a couple of entries but please keep an eye on these as they may change depending on ground conditions but so far we are looking at racing at Ludlow, Nottingham and Worcester!

Our annual dinner is also this week and we are very much looking forward to this event and can not wait to see as many of you there as possible. We have sent an email out to those registered and we will send a final update by Wednesday as a few people have asked a couple of questions so we will collate the answers and send them out in a further email.

Horses Overview

Haats Off has held a couple of options but again we are keen to find the right race where we feel she will go very close. She has an entry for Nottingham on Wednesday and it will depend on how the course dries in the next 24hrs. She is in good form and probably with another week under her belt will be back bouncing as she was before Leicester.

Toolatetodelegate continues in good order, we are trying to be careful with picking her next few runs as she will have a long winter and there is no point wasting runs now. She will win again soon and looks great.

Call Sign Charlie has been behaving herself at home, been getting lots of turnout and did hold an entry for Exeter before it abandoned for ground to fast. We will find something else for her within the next ten days.

Robin De Broome holds an entry over hurdles this week but it probably more likely to head to Wincanton on the 19th for another run over fences. He has also been doing lots of schooling and lots of work which he needs as a big heavy horse. He will probably be the first to be clipped this week as his coat has gone quite quickly.

Machiato is picking up his work and cantering away nicely, Ian Williams is working with him closely to bring up his fitness and get him race ready.

Clondaw Whisper is holding his coat very well and looks fantastic. Really pleased with him and his work progresses. He has been doing loads of schooling and will be starting his hunting soon as well.

Hard To Forget, trainer Henry Oliver could not be more pleased with him and is now looking for entries! He will want a bit of give in the ground so we are hoping for rain to give us more options.

Archie was unlucky in his race it was a rough race and lots of bumping and jostling for position which sadly saw him with nowhere to go. He is likely to head to Kempton in a couple of weeks time.

Rocket Ronnie has an entry for Ludlow, he is in great shape and we are very happy with him and hoping to continue to build on his recent fine form

SWISS SPIRIT X ANNIE KENNEY, "Nora" has now been backed and ridden away, she was an absolute star as most of ours are when we break them in said Daisy. She will carry on in the lunge pen for another week or so before she heads out onto the gallops to start her trotting.

STYLE VENDOME x LITTLE SHAMBLES, "Ginger" has now had tack on and is doing plenty of lunging, she will be ridden away this week. A sharp, precocious type she will be ready early. She is very, very fat, which is great as it means we can get plenty of work into her through the colder months.

Prairie Light & Foal, are both enjoying life and we will start to make plans for possible stud options for Prairie Light in the coming weeks. The foal is continuing to develop well and we will be watching her closely over the coming months.
