Weekly News and Updates
Welcome to this weeks review, its been a fairly quiet week with just the one race but the weather has yet to improve to a point where the ground conditions have changed enough for a few of the horses. However we had Aintree this week which I hope you all enjoyed as much as I did especially picking up a few nice tips from our resident tipster.
Toolatetodelegate ran at Wolverhampton on Tuesday due to an unlucky draw she didn’t have her best result being out wide and not being able to get any cover was frustrating for all but equally didn’t have a hard run so we are looking at another entry for her this week.
Haats Off, we are still looking to enter her for the maiden fillies race at Salisbury on the 29th, it could be quite competitive but she has earnt her place and the stiff finish there should suit her. If the race on the 29th is successful this will tie in nicely with the stable visit and any members thinking of making a weekend of it will be able to go on to Salisbury and watch her run in a fillies only maiden which we are very excited about. We will do our best to give you as much notice of this entry as possible to allow you all to make plans.
Robin De Broome is still in great order and has been doing plenty of work and he’s more than ready for a run when the ground turns! Very frustrating as he's a big, heavy, fresh horse that really needs to race more often but as he does not handle the bad ground we have kept him at home. Hopefully he will be out soon!
Call Sign Charlie is set to make her club debut this week and we has 2 possible entries, both on Friday at either Fontwell or Southwell, we will post both events in the calendar and one will be selected come the declarations.
Machiato has been schooling this week, again another horse who needs good ground. We are pleased with him and it will be great when he finally gets to the track! His schooling has been doing well, he just needs another few schools and then he will be fine.
Zamalight Is now continuing his work under the watchful eye of Olly Murphy who will be looking at an entry for him in May.
Rocket Ronnie will be looking to run very soon, trainer Adrian Wintle says he looks as good a horse as ever and is keen to see him get in another run in the next fortnight.
Archie (in the hood in the above picture) is also set to make his club debut this week, Richard Spencer is making entries to Wolverhampton and Thirsk for Saturday, both are 7f and 0-75, again another exciting prospect and we are all keen to see if the work Richard has been doing with him will pay off on the track.
Prairie Light + Foal, continue to do well under the watchful eye of Throckmorton Stud, we chose not to have the mare covered again straight away so we can watch and see what type of foal she produces. Being a young broodmare she has plenty of years ahead of her.
With the stable visit only 2 weeks away we are gearing up to see Brian Barr and his amazing team at Tall Trees Stud. Brian trains 5 of the 8 horses we have so this is a great chance to see your horses in action and being put through their paces. It is free to all club members and their guests, we would appreciate if you could let us know your intention to attend and also how many guest you are bringing to help us plan the morning, if you could email me on email@example.com letting me know it would be greatly appreciated. The morning itself is an early start but we cannot interrupt the horses regimes too much so we have to plan our visit around them as much as we can to allow you to see the preparation and training of the clubs horse as well as seeing them in action on the gallops. You will have time to speak to Brian Barr himself and the rest of his team who care and look after these fine animals on our behalf. In addition we hope to have both club jockeys there on the day for you to speak with and see riding some of the clubs horses. We hope as many of you as possible can join us on this day it really is not to be missed.
So yet another busy week with 2 horses making their club debut and a few more entries pending there certainly is a lot to engage with. Keep a look out for notifications of the race entries and if you are interested in attending either race please click the link which will register your interest. Obviously where there are 2 entries for one horse, one will be selected by the trainer 48 hours before and the other will be closed off.
