Trainers

Our Trainers

Inspire Racing Club is committed to working with the very best and up and coming trainers, currently the club has horses with 3 trainers, each providing something unique to ensure we get the most for our members. From the HQ of horse racing we have the Newmarket based Richard Spencer, the midland based Olly Murphy and Dorset based Brian Barr. You can read more about each of our trainers below and we look forward to our stable visits for members and their families to enjoy.

Olly Murphy

Olly has been involved in the Horse Racing industry  all of his life. Anabel King Murphy, his mother, is a highly respected trainer and his father, Aiden Murphy in his own right, is one of the leading Bloodstock Agents and a breeder in Horse Racing.

A big part of the operation at Warren Chase Stables stables from an early age, an accomplished Point To Point jockey and a natural horseman, Olly then spent time with Alan King before moving to Ireland as Assistant Trainer to Irish Trainer Gordon Elliott in 2012.

Richard Spencer

Richard Spencer has worked in racing for the last 10 years, with his first position at Peter Bowens in west Wales. He moved to Barry Hills in 2006, and continued as pupil assistant with Charlie Hills.

Whilst with Hills, Richard gained valuable experience including travelling horses to run overseas. In 2010 he was responsible for Prime Defender when running in Dubai, Deauville and at Longchamp. Richard was also responsible for breaking in their crop of yearlings each year.

Brian Barr

Brian, originally from a small west coastal town in Scotland decided after a childhood of watching racing and having a few bets on Saturdays that this was the industry destined for him to be in. After finishing school at 16 he was straight to the Britsh Racing School in Newmarket and from there he has never looked back. Several years ago he made the move to Dorset.

Along with his partner Daisy Hitchins, who owned the horses and have had a great deal of success along the way, having had a personal best season last year both on the flat and NH we have already started well with a winner under each code already!
